The Cavro XC Pump delivers high precision and accuracy, with a compact design to ensure it fits into small footprint instruments. It is popular with manufacturers of high quality desktop systems, such as DNA sequencers, sample preparation instruments and cell-based assay platforms.
This syringe pump is particularly well suited to closed-tube sampling – for example, septum-capped blood collection tubes – offering precise aspiration against a positive pressures or vacuums. Customers choose the Cavro XC for its ease of integration and wide range of valves options, allowing easy switching between multiple source fluids.
The Cavro XC Pump automates pipetting, diluting and dispensing with excellent accuracy and precision, from <5 μl to 5 ml using a variety of syringes. For improved liquid handling accuracy and process security, its stepper motor-driven ball-screw is directly coupled to a linear encoder with a temperature compensation circuit.
Pump speed ranges from 1.2 seconds to 20 minutes per stroke, with a resolution of 3,000 increments per stroke in standard mode, and 24,000 increments per stroke in micro-stepping mode.
The pump’s hardware and firmware have been developed to simplify instrument design and in-service operation. Its machined aluminum frame has numerous pre-drilled holes for ease of mounting, and a range of valve types are available to reduce fluidic hardware requirements.
The pump’s robust ball-screw drive does not require lubrication and can be manually lowered for easy syringe replacement, while valve and plunger move counters help to plan preventive maintenance operations.
The Cavro XC Pump is popular with instrument designers around the world thanks to its exceptional balance between cost and functionality. This is combined with a compact design to ensure easy integration and cost-effective performance for a wide range of applications.
