Cavro Magni Flex is a modular and scalable multichannel XYZ technology platform designed to offer flexible integration of liquid handling and logistics capabilities into your laboratory instrument or IVD platform.

Developed with OEM manufacturers in mind, the technology platform is available in a wide range of standard or custom sizes, and is packed with features intended for a seamless integration into your instrument. It offers a choice of two to eight pipetting channels – plus an optional gripping option – to meet various throughput requirements, with a number of options tailored for efficiency and process security.

The Cavro Magni Flex OEM liquid handling technology platform offers straightforward automation of a wide range of laboratory processes, from immunoassay processing to molecular diagnostics.

Available in a range of standard sizes – or customizable to match your instrument design – it ensures a solid foundation for integration.

The workdeck can be easily configured with various labware carriers, cutouts and custom grids to meet the requirements of your workflow, or interface to your proprietary technologies.


The platform’s liquid handling arm offers a choice of 2, 4 or 8 pipetting channels, with variable tip spacing from 9 mm up to 445 mm (two-channel instruments, depending on configuration) to accommodate a variety of labware types and pipetting tasks.

Using our proven Cavro Pulssar PBC Pump in combination with capacitive liquid level detection (cLLD), it provides state of the art liquid handling from 2 to 1,000 μl.

Accelerating development

The Cavro Magni Flex aims to accelerate time-to-market for your instrument, and is complemented by the MAPlinx software development toolkit – including a virtual robot to start software development from day one, even before integration hardware is available.

Scalable chassis

The robot's workdeck is easily configurable and customizable to meet the requirements of your workflow. Available in a wide range of standard sizes, or fully customizable to your specifications, it is designed to interface with your instrument housing.

Whether you need to process slides, plates, strips or individual microplate wells, the workdeck can be adjusted to optimize throughput and process security.

Workflow-oriented pipetting arm

The Cavro Magni Flex's pipetting arm is available with a choice of 2, 4 or 8 channels to match your protocols and provide the foundation for the development of a family of instruments with varying throughput capacities.

Automatically adjustable tip spacing – from 9 to 445 mm – allows access to a variety of labware types and sample containers, enabling sample reformatting and other format differing liquid handling tasks to be performed.

Liquid handling

The system offers liquid displacement pipetting across a broad volume range – from 2 to 1,000 µl – using our Cavro Pulssar PBC Pump in combination with fixed or disposable tips.

Capacitive liquid level detection (cLLD) build a foundation for process security, and allows rapid alignment of the pipetting arm to the worktable for faster instrument set-up.

Gripping module

The Cavro Magni Flex's gripper module allows movement of labware around the worktable without requiring a separate robotic arm, increasing flexibility and walkaway times.

Compatible with fixed or disposable tips, the gripper fingers can be picked up 'on-the-fly' to accelerate protocols and increase instrument throughput.
